In Tolkien's writings, the elven Prince Legolas played a major role in defeating the evil Lord Sauron. During the war against Sauron, Legolas became a member of the Fellowship of the Ring and accompanied Frodo Baggins on his journey to destroy the Ring of Sauron. He fought during the War of the Ring, constantly at the side of Aragorn, the heir to the throne of the kingdoms of Gondor and Arnor. Legolas was tall, limber, and very strong, had great vitality and was able to resist to injury, hardship, and fatigue. He was a Silvan Elf of Sindarin descent.
